A delightful Georgian jewel, locket, brooch, and pendant, with a halo of turquoise and pearls in 18ct gold. The domed crystal-faced locket is framed in small natural pearls and cabochon turquoise gems in the pretty collet settings commonly used during this era. This sweet piece has a bale and jump ring, both set with pearls and turquoise, that allow it to be worn on a necklace. A c-clasp pin allows it to be worn as a brooch. The crystal locket would have originally held a painted miniature or lock of hair; it is ideal for displaying a small photo, pressed flower, butterfly wing, or whatever your imagination dreams up. Circa 1820.
