The elegance of a single leaf is represented in this sterling silver brooch from Maricela. Rippling silver plays with light; overlay "veins" and applied beading add texture and visual interest. The back of the brooch is marked "Maricela 925 Tasco," "Sterling Hecho en Mexico," and bears the Eagle mark for sterling silver. Circa 1940.

Ysidro Garc??a Pi?a is better known to collectors of Mexican silver jewelry by his shop name "Maricela." His workshop, founded in 1943, produced beautiful silver jewels until 1986. He was best known for repouss?? and overlay work and the use of amethyst cabochons.
